Algodón Egipcio is one of those names that pleasantly appears on the track list on the most random albums and EPs. His productions and remixes are constant and varied.
In the past month, he’s done remixes for Mariachi el Bronx, was part of a very cool remix project of Mexican Norteño music as well as remixed a Palestinian Muezzin’s Call to Prayer! Not bad for this young musician based out of Caracas, Venezuela.
We’ve been super fans of Algodón Egpicio for a long time, so we invented a whole new thing to have an excuse to record an interview with him via SKYPE.
There are things that were lost in the convo, like his upcoming collaboration with another one of our favourite Latin-Pop-Freaks HELADO NEGRO, but we think we got some really great, interesting and endearing footage of Algodón Egipcio answering questions from his PC in Caracas!
