We were more than honoured to be able to sit down with one of Hip-Hop’s most legendary DJs and the king of mixtapes, TONY TOUCH aka Tony Toca, the last time he was in Toronto! And as expected, Tony was mad cool!
For those that don’t know, Tony Touch’s name is synonymous with mixtape culture, going back to when they were still on cassettes! Tony Touch has also been a leading producer in the Hip-Hop world, bringing much needed shine to many underground MCs through his ’50 MCs’ series and ‘The Piece Maker’ (soon-to-be-completed) trilogy. But to us, Tony Touch will always be a champion for Latinos in Hip-Hop everywhere.
In this episode of 2MUN2TV, Tony Touch talks about his love of music and dancing, his early years in the industry and his work building bridges between American Hip-Hop circles and Puerto Rican Reggaeton artists.
