Bridges #001 | Lido Pimienta + Hector Buitrago (Aterciopelados) | THURSDAY!
Last week we brought you this wonderful post about our homegirl Lido and what she’s been up to. Needless to say, she’s a busy lady. She’s a visual artist (studying at OCAD), she’s a singer/songwriter (you better ask somebody), a superstar Mom and one helluva cake maker!
This Thursday night, Lido launches yet another amazing project in Toronto. ‘Bridges’ is a series of music + visual art events that Lido is curating alongside Lula Arts and will feature some of the world’s top Alter-Latino or New Latin artists working in music and visual arts. This month, Lido invites Hector Buitrago, one half of Colombian Alt-Rock band Aterciopelados, and his new project Conector to Toronto. Each artist will be performing solo sets as well as performing material from their recent collaborations, which I’m sure will break out into a free form jam fest.
Featured alongside Lido and Hector’s music will be live visual projections courtesy of AluCine Toronto Latin Film + Media Arts Festival, a photography exhibit from Amnesty International, an opening DJ set from Dos Mundos’ eLman (playing minimal, experimental tropical) and closing Global Bass set from the always exciting M.A.M.A. DJ Crew! WOW!
