Uma Nota Festival of Tropical Expressions THIS WEEKEND!

Picture a room full of beautiful people moving hypnotically to the rumble of batucada drums and funky horns. The DJ takes you on a journey through dusty grooves of funk, soul, Brazilian, Tropical, Reggae, Hip-Hop and so on…the energy intensifies and the crowd explodes into a frenzy of dance and joy. This is Uma Nota.
5 years ago a group of musicians and DJs came together to start a new vibe in the city of Toronto that celebrated the vibrant culture of Brazil. They called themselves Uma Nota and they grew to become one of the driving forces behind Toronto’s ever evolving live music scene.
After 5 years, Uma Nota has grown from a monthly event to be a large scale weekend-long festival that not only celebrates live music and DJs but also dance, food, art and community. THIS WEEKEND the Uma Nota Festival of Tropical Expression celebrates their second year of existence with a jam-packed weekend of amazing events.
SATURDAY
The Uma Nota crew once again takes over the Great Hall with a powerhouse lineup of live music and DJs including SOUND ONE, MAR ABERTO SOUNDSYSTEM, ASIKO AFROBEAT ENSEMBLE and DJs General Eclectic and Dos Mundos!
SUNDAY

If you love culture and love the fact that you live in a city like Toronto where we can celebrate our diversity through culture every day…please come out and have some fun with us this weekend!
