Essencia Mural Exchange Fundraiser ~ TONIGHT!
The ESSENCIA art collective uses the power of art and culture to create positive social change throughout the world. Started by graffiti artists (and sisters) Las Bruxas, the Essencia collective has traveled to Senegal to develop workshops with local graffiti writers and recently put on a very successful festival in Brazil!

Tonight! The Essencia collective invite you to Lula Lounge for a fundraiser to help support their next initiative – a mural exchange in Venezuela. ESSENCIA, in collaboration with the Centre for Spanish Speaking People, is organizing a youth mural art exchange program, which will take a group of local young artists to Caracas, Venezuela. Venezuela has been selected because of its documented, unique and massive community mural movement. All donations will go to help cover the youth’s travel and art supply expenses.
Over the past three months the Essencia Art Collective ran youth mural workshops with youth from the GTA and the six nations region, to teach them creative ways to empower their voice, and how they can contribute to building stronger communities. The first part of this project was completed in collaboration with the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council. This second part of the project is done completely independently, with no monetary support from either of these institutions.
