I’m constantly talking about Mexico’s electronic music scene, often comparing it to Germany in the sense that there are a ton of artists, all very young, exploring and re-defining their place at home and on the global music scene.
The FIESTAS PIRATAS crew are super close familia and have been favourites of ours for a long time. This crew of DJ/Producers based out of Tijuana have been tweeking and freaking Cumbia riddims with all sorts of different influences and sounds, creating wild and weird versions and flooding the internet with their take on tropical bass.
One of the dudes who has been consistently releasing pure heat, from originals to remixes, is YELRAM SELECTAH. That name probably looks familiar because you’ve seen it pop up on many of our playlists in the past year or so. And it’s no lie, we are super fans!
