John Leguizamo’s Tales from a Ghetto Klown

John Leguizamo is one of the most underrated actors of his generation. His ability to fully immerse himself into his characters and tell stories from his life, that are somehow hilarious and heartbreaking at the same time, is unmatched. I’ve been a fan of John since the ‘HOUSE OF BUGGIN‘ days and have always respect him as an iconic Latino making it in Hollywood. In fact, one of the highlights of my journalist ‘career’ was back in 2009 when I got to sit down and talk one-on-one with John.
A few years later, Toronto was treated to a special week-long presentation of John Leguizamo’s new one-man show ‘Ghetto Klown’. I was amongst the few people who got to see him workshop the show before it hit broadway to critical acclaim. Now, PBS put together a great ‘behind-the-scenes’ of the making of ‘Ghetto Klown’ that shows John putting himself through a physical/mental ringer to bring his story and this amazing show to life!
