GATO PRETO is a relatively new name on the Tropical Bass scene. Based out of the UK, this duo is made up of singer/MC Gata Misteriosa, who spent her youth dancing to the emerging sounds of electronic music from Africa in Portugal’s thriving club scene, and DJ Lee Bass, who grew up listening to his DJ father mix funk, soul and West African high life music.
Together, they are taking this mash up of global sounds and turning them out for the world’s dancefloors. With a heavy lean towards baile funk, moombahton and kuduro, Gato Preto are becoming a regular feature in DJ crates all over the planet. They just dropped a new single featuring British/Caribbean MC Meli Wharton called “SoundGals” that’s a syrupy, bass heavy dancefloor burner!
