Norte Sonero EP from NRMAL featuring Chancha, Toy, Rupture and more!
NRMAL is a platform focused on celebrating music and art, and once a year they put on the NRMAL FEST a week long series of concerts and exhibits that provides established and non-established artists from all over the world to showcase new and fresh cultural manifestations.
NORTE SONERO is a multimedia project, put together by NRMAL, that delves into the world of Northern Mexican music (also referred to as Música Norteña). This free series of concerts featured some of the most forward thinking artists in the world of ‘tropical’ music and allowed them to experiment with the rhythms and sounds of Northen Mexico and put their own twist on Norteño music. After the concerts, it seems all the artists converge into the studios of the unofficial mayor of Monterrey, Mexico, Toy Selectah, to archive their exciting works. The result: The NORTE SONERO EP!
Featured on this EP are some of our favourite artists in the game, including: CHANCHA VIA CIRCUITO, HELADO NEGRO, DJ RUPTURE and TOY SELECTAH doing some absolutely stunning, textured and psyched-out things to Norteño music.
