Toronto Premiere of SQUAT: The City Belongs to Us

French filmmaker Christophe Coello followed Barcelona-based activist collective Miles de Viviendas (Thousands of Homes), a diverse group of individuals determined to set condemned buildings free by occupying them and transforming the boarded flats into inspired homes. The film follows this deeply political, radical and committed group as they resist gentrification, bring vitality to forgotten urban spaces, protest against war and neoliberalism, and build community.

Our new friends at Cinema Politica have organized the Toronto premiere of “Squat: The City Belongs to Us”, happening tonight at the Bloor Cinema. Check it out!
