White Walls Say Nothing ~ New Doc from Argentina’s Graffiti Movement

From the streets of Buenos Aires, comes a fresh new documentary on the graffiti movement in Argentina and how throughout their turbulent history, successive generations of activists and artists have taken to the streets to express themselves, through words and through art. This has given the walls a powerful and symbolic role. They have become the city’s voice.

Stylised painted propaganda vies for attention with advertising billboards. Sprayed messages declare love for football teams, people and political ideals. Graffiti writers have tagged every wall and shutter, and in recent years street art has flourished bringing vibrant works to every corner of the city. Together, these layers of paint tell the story of this unique form of expression.

The sad news is, this documentary has not yet been completed. Even though two years, and lots of money, have been put into work to create this film, they are still $32, 000 short. Here’s where you can help!

Earlier this week, the filmmakers behind this project put together a Kickstarter campaign to crowdsource funding to complete the film. They need 32K and so they are offering some great gifts in exchange for your donation.
